Tungs’ Hospital Turns 53! Anniversary Celebration with the Community

Tungs’ Hospital, founded on October 24, 1971, is now 53 years old! With over half a century of dedication to medical innovation along Taiwan’s west coast, the hospital continues to provide top-quality and cutting-edge healthcare services. Today, Tungs’ Hospital celebrated its 53rd anniversary with a special event, “Tungs’ Hospital 53rd Anniversary Celebration Press Conference,” sharing joy with the community and showcasing the hospital’s continued commitment to progress.

To engage with the local community, the celebration kicked off early in August, inviting kindergarteners from Shalu, Wuqi, and Qingshui (ages 3-5) to participate in the “2024 Unlimited Creativity: Heartfelt Rescue – Doodle Competition.” This event not only aligned with Emergency Medical Services Day on September 9 but also aimed to instill an early understanding of the importance of EMS work and the practice of yielding to ambulances. A total of 520 artworks were submitted and judged by art teachers Yi-Jing Chen and Wei-Jen Chen from Zhonggang High School, along with Dr. Wei Chih-Wei, Head of the Emergency Department. Based on creativity, coloring completeness, and visual appeal, three top entries, ten merit awards, and fifteen honorable mentions were selected, with an award ceremony held today (October 12).

President Min-Che Tung presented trophies and gift vouchers to the three top winners: Fang Ren-Hong, Zheng Zhi-Han, and Xu Jing-Tang. Vice President Bo-Ren Li awarded certificates and gift vouchers to ten merit award recipients. At the same time, the Executive Director of the Tungs’ Hospital Medical Journal, Dr. Hong-Chun Fan, presented certificates and gifts to fifteen honorable mention winners. Each awarded child was thrilled, and parents expressed their gratitude for an event that allowed kids to freely express their creativity while promoting the importance of yielding to emergency vehicles – an invaluable and meaningful message.

Additionally, to help the community better understand the hospital, the team created a video titled “Tung Editor’s Surprise Interviews,” capturing candid and heartfelt interactions with community members. The video, which premiered during the celebration, added a lively, joyful atmosphere and highlighted the community’s deep appreciation for Tungs’ Hospital.

President Min-Che Tung noted that the hospital, with its patient-centered philosophy, is dedicated to elevating healthcare quality, and continuously advancing medical technologies and facilities. Tungs’ Hospital has come a long way over 53 years, and he expressed gratitude for the support and encouragement from all sectors and the community. Moving forward, the hospital will strive to become the community’s most trusted medical institution and an internationally recognized medical center, ensuring that everyone in need receives the best possible care.
